Welcome to CyberPos ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal and business data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

By using CyberPos, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with the best Point of Sale (POS) and Ledger experience, we may request access to the following types of information:

A. Personal Information

  • Account Details: When you set up your profile, we may collect your name, business name, email address, and phone number to personalize your invoices and experience.

  • Business Details: Information such as your shop address, GST/Tax number (optional), and business logo to generate professional invoices.

B. Device & Usage Permissions

We require specific permissions to enable core functionalities of the app:

  • Contacts (READ_CONTACTS):

    • Why: To allow you to quickly add customers or suppliers to your Ledger (Ledger Book) directly from your phonebook without typing details manually.

    • Privacy: We do not upload your contact list to any external server. This data is processed locally on your device.

  • Storage & Camera (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, CAMERA):

    • Why: To allow you to upload a business logo, profile pictures for customers, attach receipts/bills to ledger entries, and scan barcodes for inventory management.

    • Privacy: Images are stored locally on your device or your personal Google Drive (if backup is enabled).

  • Biometrics/Screen Lock:

    • Why: To provide an App Lock feature for securing your business data.

    • Privacy: Biometric data is handled entirely by the Android system; we never access or store your fingerprint/face data.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Invoicing: To generate PDF invoices with your business branding and customer details.

  • Ledger Management: To maintain accurate records of debit/credit transactions.

  • Communication: To facilitate sending payment reminders via WhatsApp or SMS (initiated by you).

  • Backup & Restore: To safely sync your data to your private Google Drive account.

3. Data Storage and Backup

Local Storage

CyberPos is primarily an offline-first application. Your business data (sales, inventory, ledger entries) is stored locally on your device's internal database (Hive). We do not have access to your local database.

Google Drive Backup

  • Functionality: We offer a "Backup & Restore" feature to protect your data.

  • Security: If you choose to enable this, your data is encrypted (AES-256) and uploaded to a hidden, private folder in your own Google Drive.

  • Access: We (the developers) cannot access, read, or share your backup files. Only you can restore this data using your Google account credentials.

 4. Data Retention and Deletion

We empower you with full control over your data. 

  •  App Data Deletion: You can delete your products, ledger entries, and order history directly within the CyberPos app at any time. Since your business data is backed up to your personal Google Drive, you can completely erase this data by deleting the backup file directly from your Google Drive account.

  • Account Deletion: If you wish to permanently delete your CyberPos account (Google Sign-In authentication data), please email us at cyberpos.help@gmail.com with your request. We will process your account deletion promptly.

 

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

  • Third-Party Services: We may use third-party libraries (e.g., Firebase, Google Sign-In) to provide authentication and analytics. These services have their own privacy policies.

  • User-Initiated Sharing: When you share an invoice or payment reminder via WhatsApp, Email, or SMS, the data contained within that message is shared through the respective platform chosen by you.

6. Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information.

  • Encryption: We use industry-standard encryption for data backups.

  • App Lock: We provide an in-app security feature allowing you to lock the app using your device's biometrics or PIN.

However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
